The best care and
attention of your vehicles

Cowal Mobility Aids was conceived back in 1971 when Roy Walters, then running successful engineering, tool making, and furniture manufacturing businesses, designed a set of quality, well hidden hand controls for his friend and business partner Tony Coates who had lost the use of his legs.

The hand controls on the market at that time left much to be desired, so Roy and Tony started producing quality conversions for the disabled driver which filled a much needed gap in the market. in February 1972, they joined their surnames and Cowal was born.

After years of successful growth, Tony unfortunately passed away and Roy continued the good work, joined in 1986 by his engineer son Stuart.

Cowal is now a family run business and Roy Walters was at the helm until his retirement in 2003. Stuart stepped into Roy's shoes, and now runs Cowal alongside his mother Dawn and sister Mandy.

We can assure our clients a pleasant stay while their vehicle is being converted and we endeavour to make you feel comfortable with hot & cold drinks, TV and video in our comfortable waiting room.

We have a large demonstration room where a range of wheelchairs, ramps and other equipment can be viewed and tried out. We also have a new VW Caddy Maxi demonstrator vehicle fitted with our controls as well as other equipment we install E.g. swivel seats, hoists and person hoists. This vehicle also doubles as a mobile installation workshop as we now offer on-site installation of your controls at your dealership or home within a designated area. Alternatively we can arrange collection and delivery of your vehicle throughout the UK.

Great Kingshill is a pretty village set in the Chiltern hills. Winner of the Dashwood Trophy for runner up in the 2010 Buckinghamshire Best Kept Village Competition, there are several pleasant Bed & Breakfast establishments nearby, where you can stay if you have travelled far to get to us. We have lots of storage space for long stay vehicles, which is secure and private.
